County Road 366 | Taylor, Texas

The County Road 366 study limits are from FM 397 (Carlos G. Parker Blvd.) to Chandler Road, a distance of approximately 1.4 miles, through both the City of Taylor limits and City of Taylor Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) in Texas. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2020.

The existing roadway is two lanes, one lane in each direction, with no shoulders, open ditch drainage, culvert stream crossings, and multiple utilities in the corridor. Existing right-of-way is approximately 50 feet.

The proposed facility is being planned as a four-lane divided roadway with a continuous center turn lane and shoulders, consistent with the Williamson County Long Range Transportation Plan. The project anticipates an estimated 120 to 140-foot right-of-way will be needed, and will include drainage improvements, improvements to intersections at Carlos G. Parker Blvd., CR 367, CR 369, and Chandler Road.

Our Evaluation

Transtec performed a field inspection to visually assess the existing pavement condition, conducted an in-depth pavement evaluation, and completed a thorough analysis to determine if the pavement could be rehabilitated or if reconstruction was required. The analysis indicated that reconstructing the existing pavement on CR 366 would be the optimum strategy. Transtec provided cost-effective asphalt pavement design recommendations for reconstructing the existing pavement that will result in a long-lasting solution.
